BROADBAND INCLUDED EXTRAS
All these Added Features as Standard with Netpoint Broadband!
Backup dial access: All Netpoint Broadband accounts are provided with a FREE of CHARGE backup dial-up account. This allows connection to the internet in the unlikely event of broadband failure via a modem and standard PSTN line. Calls are charged at 0845 rates (actual call cost will depend on your line provider).
Games server access: All Netpoint broadband accounts provide fast access to online games servers.
Anti-SPAM filter: All Netpoint broadband accounts offer anti-SPAM email filtering. Email is filtered and either 'tagged' as SPAM or deleted - tagged items can then be filtered by your local mail software (Outlook,
Mozilla, Thunderbird etc.) to a separate folder as required. Mail identified as spam and then deleted will not reach your system.
Multiple PC access: All Netpoint broadband services allow multiple PC access - making use of either local network address translation (NAT) or dedicated static IP addresses.
Use your PC as a telephone (VOIP): Broadband accounts may be used to support Internet telephony services - using BT Communicator or Skype etc. A software application loaded to your local PC will allow you to use a microphone and headset/PC speakers to enable voice communication with another remote user - who may be using a similar application (providing free calls) or connecting via the public telephone system (calls chargeable via your phone service provider). Using broadband calling allows you to talk and surf at the same time - even from a
machine without access to a standard telephone connection!
Internet Presence Package: (quantities of each
item vary with broadband account type), consisting of free
domain name (check domain availability),
email boxes, webhosting and free webDesigner package worth
up to £95 (Test
Drive).
